Sometimes you just need the holiday classics to keep your spirits high!

Traditional egg nog is believed to have roots to the medieval times and was made with hot, sweetened and spiced milk, that was curdled with ale or wine. In the 17th century it was mixed with sherry, which was very expensive and made it more of a celebratory drink. By the time it reached the Colonial Americans overseas, they decided to use rum! This made it cheaper, and they loved it. At this point in 1826, the West Point Cadets were banned from buying, storing, or consuming alcohol. This caused a minor riot after the cadets smuggled alcohol for their eggnog and got caught. Leading to the expulsion of 20 of them

Many countries have their versions of this holiday classic, and it is now found in the stores in a carton with all kinds of interesting ingredients.

I wanted to create something that would make your taste buds sing, while bringing back memories of holidays past, but without all the yucky ingredients that normal egg nog contains

Tons of sugar, raw eggs, milk, cream, Egg whites and lots of preservatives

This is my node to nog!

A simple recipe that can be consumed the way you like it. Hot, cold, or even spiked!

Show me your creations and share with everyone you know!!
