Keep scrolling because today I want to share some of the tools I  personally use to help me with consistency in my own crazy busy life. 

Who Am I?

I am Sarah Hemphill. I am a holistic gut  health coach.

I have an interesting background. Coming from the entertainment industry, I have truly seen what life is like when you do not care about anything other than making it through your 12-16 hr day, eating, sleeping and repeating. This life is hard on people, and you become less likely to take care of yourself. The stress and pressure are real, and it really takes its toll on physical and mental health. Especially while you are trying to build a health empire!

I spent years in this same situation. I put processed foods into my body, drank heavily, smoked, and really didn’t work on my mindset at all. Furthermore, I had been on many antibiotics in my life and my childhood was rocky to say the least.

I didn’t exercise, and It hit a point when every word from my mouth was a negative one. I felt anxious and depressed and like I’d never get out of it. Life felt so unfulfilling.

My skin was dull, the weight kept piling on, my hair lifeless and a tangled rat’s nest. I cared little to be seen in anything but baggy clothes, and had no confidence. Sexy? what was that? How could anyone feel sexy in a body like mine?

This was so hard on my relationships and hard on my mental wellbeing. Body dysmorphia coupled with a toxic lifestyle and a toxic mindset was a true recipe for disaster.

I had had food sensitivities for years, but never addressed the root cause. Just stayed away from those foods and went about my life. Unfortunately, that life started to creep in and kick my ass. First it started with flare-ups from what I thought were random foods. More often and more often. The pain took me to the floor most days. I’d crawl in my closet like a sick cat. Hours this would go on and when I was at work I had to try my best to keep going. You know what they say “the show must go on” “rock bottom” came when I was 20lbs over weight (I’m 5’1 so that’s a lot on my frame), puffy face, hives all over my body, rashes, bumps on my skin, no energy and hating myself and the world.

 

What Did I Change?

 

 

I had to do something. Anything.

So that’s what I did. One small thing at a time. Using the knowledge, I already had to make meaningful changes one day after another.

Growing my understanding of gut health, nutrition, and just making consistent choices that would move the needle forward.

It was overwhelming and exhausting. It was time-consuming and boy did I try and fail so many times. Spending months on elimination diets, restricting myself to a mere 1200 calories a day, and feeling like a shell of a human.

But I would not stop. Not until I found a way.

I had no idea the intricacy the gut played in everything our body experiences. I didn’t even realize I had been doing so much damage by my lifestyle.

I NEVER want anyone to go through what I felt when I hit my “rock bottom”

It wasn’t easy… It was one of the hardest challenges I ever went through. But I am so glad I did because I was able to come up with my own way to help others. To make it much less stressful and scary.
